Role at Graystone:  Scott’s involvement spans all facets of the company’s operations, including new business development, operations and client account management.  Scott also oversees all of the company’s analysis and software efforts regarding Graystone’s industry leading client family research.  He has developed many of the tools clients use today to effectively and efficiently manage their businesses.  He also oversees all new content development and research for the annual Client Summit.

What Clients Say: Clients often refer to Scott as the numbers guy because of his focus on the business performance analytics with Graystone clients.  Clients value the way that Scott identifies issues and spearheads problems, bringing clarity and guidance to complex, nuanced situations.   

Expertise:  Scott’s specific areas of expertise have developed from many years of valuation, financial modeling, merger and acquisition project management and investment banking.  As a result, he can provide clients with  internal succession planning and business transfers, acquisition of new businesses, financial reporting forecasting and cash management and the overall business oversight of client firms.  Helping clients understand the financial performance of their business, in order to make strong strategic planning decisions, is more critical than ever as the funeral services profession continues to evolve.

Passion for the Work: For Scott, the most rewarding aspect of his work is the close relationships developed with clients.  He appreciates the opportunity to witness, first-hand, the growth of the staff, leadership team and overall business success. 

Prior to Graystone:  Scott graduated with honors from the University of Kansas with a B. A. in Economics.  Scott worked as an investment banker in software, media and advertising industries.  He brings much of the analytical skills and financial knowledge garnered during those years with him to Graystone.
