Scott Newton, a principal at Graystone Associates, Inc., brings extensive financial and business systems experience to Graystone Associates. Having been one of the creators of the Graystone System, he skillfully implements the System with clients to maximize return on investment.
Early on in his career, he garnered significant experience within the funeral industry. Consulting for firms on succession issues and assisting with more than 80 business mergers, he became a valuable resource for funeral businesses nationwide. He has also worked extensively with software, technology and media businesses on mergers, corporate restructuring and capital investments. Scott also has hands-on management experience as a department Director, Vice President and eventually the CEO of a media sales and distribution company specializing in cinema advertising.
It is his qualifications both inside and outside the funeral industry that make Newton such a reputable, reliable professional within the field today. Newton explains, “While outside of funeral service I had the privilege of working on projects with Top-Tier Investment Banks and Equity Funds, not to mention management teams from highly successful media companies. It really opened my eyes on how to evaluate a business, assess the key drivers, and propose a direction that delivers maximum performance. The time I spent away from the funeral business proved invaluable upon my return. It is the application of the best-practices we learn from our industry-leading clients that enables us to make a real difference in our customers’ performance.”
